International PhD School on “Automata Networks and Cellular Automata”

Scope of the School

The International PhD School on “Automata Networks and Cellular Automata” will be held at the University of Trieste, Italy, on June 22, 2026, with remote participation also available.

The School is organized in conjunction with the “Cellular Automata and Boolean Automata Networks” Workshop, held as part of UCNC 2026. The School consists of a morning program dedicated exclusively to School participants, followed by the afternoon sessions of the Workshop, which are included as part of the School program.

The School, sponsored by the HORIZON-MSCA-2022-SE-01 project 101131549 “Application-driven Challenges for Automata Networks and Complex Systems” (ACANCOS), focuses on Automata Networks, Cellular Automata, and related models for Complex Systems, mainly (but not limited to) their theoretical aspects.

The School is also an opportunity to interact with members of the “Automata Networks and Cellular Automata” community of the ACANCOS Research Network, including researchers from European, North American, and South American universities.

The expected audience consists of PhD students and researchers interested in formal models for Complex Systems. Participants will be issued a certificate of attendance.
